Left Handed Epiphone
The Epiphone Company is a company that produces fine guitars and other stringed instruments. It had its roots in Greece, where founder Anastasios Stathopoulos was born. After living in Turkey, he and his family moved to New York. In 1915, Anastasios leaves the company in the able hands of his son Epimanondas, who lent his nickname “Epi” to the rebranding of the company. Since then the company had its share of boom and gloom years. Today, it has been absorbed by the owners of one of its former rivals, Gibson. By no means are Epiphone guitars a knock-off of Gibson guitars. They are of comparable quality, just following different beats of the drum as it were.
For left-handed players, finding a guitar can be a hassle. Re-stringing in reverse is not a viable solution for many guitars which have asymmetrical bodies. Not to worry though, as any southpaw guitarist can easily find a left handed Epiphone guitar. With one of these babies, you can rock out loud, safe in the knowledge that your guitar will pass the tests of quality with flying colors. Many guitars branded as left handed are not very good. Many of these guitars are simply “flipped” versions of their standard right handed counterparts. With a left handed Epiphone guitar though, you can be sure that what you are playing is an instrument designed specifically to fit the needs of those whose left hands dominate their playing.
Of course, just because there are less left handed people and thus lower demand and production of left handed guitars doesn’t mean that you are lacking for choice. Epiphone produces left-handed versions for many of it guitars, so you will surely be spoilt for choice.
The coloration of the body is just one of the things that you have choices for. Choose from their acoustic models, electric guitars, and bass guitars. The styles of these guitars also span the spectrum of the previous and current century’s styles, both those iconic and classic. They have the Sheraton-II, favored by the Boogie Man, John Lee Hooker. Of course, the ever-popular Les Paul Standard is available too. Whether you are playing bluegrass, bass to rock music, or taking the forefront with your shredding, Epiphone guitars will do you right.
Different finishes are also available, depending on the model. You could go au naturel with a Natural finish guitar, for the purist. For those looking for that classic look, you can’t go wrong with the Heritage Sunburst. The Vintage Sunburst has the patterning of the Heritage Sunburst, but with a darker tone and stronger saturation. Ebony is always popular, since a flat black guitar has a certain flair all its own. For those looking to throw in a little more color and to stand out, there is the Cherry Finish. There are many more choices.
With left handed Epiphone guitars, you can play to your heart’s content. Epiphone continues to drive innovation in guitars, and this certainly is true with their forward-looking vision for left handed guitars.
