Epiphone guitars are well-respected, and for good reason.  In the earlier part of the 20th century, they were as popular as guitars come.  Their upright basses in particular were unmatched.  Hard times befell them too, and after the Second World War, they were forced to sell out to their strongest competitor, the famous Gibson.  Instead of relegating them to making copies of Gibson models, the buyers revitalized Epiphone.  Today, Epiphone is the renegade to Gibson’s straight-up guy, the radical versus the conservationist.  They have actually become the defining sides of the proverbial coin for modern guitars.

The Epiphone Flying V is made of Korina wood, which is light yet produces solid tones.  The finish comes in two choices: natural Korina finish or Ebony.  The natural look is great for those looking for a light-colored unit, while Ebony appeals to the flat black lovers out there.  These two finishes can fit in with just about any band you could think of, and you certainly will not be disappointed with the quality of its appearance and sound.

The pickups are Alnico Classic Humbuckers, which you can sub out for Alnico Classic Plus Humbucker pickups.  The hardware is gold, for an incomparable flamboyance and flair.  Rosewood dots mark the fretboard, functional in keeping with the look and yet stylish.  Of course, there are points to attach your strap, so you can go wild without worrying about it slipping and falling to the ground or worse, off into your adoring fans.

The Flying V is not just a frontliner; it is great as a bass guitar too.  The bass version is also available in Alpine White, and carries on it the proud tradition of bass sound that made Epiphone famous in the first place.

Nothing says metal and rock music like this guitar.  If you are in a band that plays it loud and in-your-face, then the Epiphone Flying V will be an invaluable addition to your lineup.
